Illustration Friday: Canned

So last Friday’s prompt (25 July 08) was the word ‘canned’ and of course I immediately thought narwhals in a can! It’s obvious isn’t it? Well it is if you’re me;)

Yes, these are the strange thoughts that wander through my weird and wacky mind at random intervals.

These were both very quick little sketches as evidenced by those oh so crooked lines. Er yes, I can’t draw straight lines :(

I had been daydreaming how lovely it would be to have a tank full of miniature narwhals but when I saw last week’s Illo Fri prompt I figured that given the track record of the human species we’d treat them just like sardines. After all seahorses are pretty magical looking little beasties and we treat them miserably. So yes if there were such a thing as teeny weeny narwhals they’d probably be extinct already.

Good sketches, you’re sure they were quick?
But I’d certainly prefer miniature narwhals in a fish tank than in a can :)

They were pretty quick - you can tell by the wobbly lines;)
I used water soluble drawing pencils - a splash of water speeds up the shading quite a bit:)

A brilliant idea and illustration! I saw the most incredibly long Narwhal horn just yesterday! We were visiting Berkely castle!

you are amazing! quick and so well done. I don’t think the norwahls care if your lines are straight or not, I know I sure don’t. Wow!!!!

You do not need any lines better or more straight than these. Everything is lovely except you talking your lines down! ;-)
