Illustration Friday: Stitch
I did this as a rough sketch in one of my sketchbooks with the intention of doing a more refined and detailed version this evening when I got home from work but best laid plans and all that. I ended up spending the evening babysitting my sister’s kids and watching Princess Mononoke. And then my Dad and stepmum called round, and then of course when my sister called to pick up the kids we all ended up chatting for another hour…
We had a fun evening together so I’m not too sad that I didn’t get the chance to work on this some more. I’ll probably go back to it again at some future stage as I kind of like the idea:)

She is an interesting one BF. of course the stitched eyes MUST be symbolic of something...what doesn’t she want to see?
Well done, and she has the freckles of the little boys earlier so may be their older sis or mom?

“what doesn’t she want to see?”
That’s assuming she stitched them shut herself...did she? I’m not sure.

I like the contrast between the macabre image of her eyes being sewn shut versus the dreamy expression on her face, like she’s under some sort of spell. Very striking image.

She’s great! (There are some days that I feel like keeping my eyes closed!)
And I’m glad that you were able to enjoy the evening that life offered as opposed to the one you had planned. Sometimes we struggle against what is to what you thought would be, and that’s like trying to float upstream without a paddle!
I’m glad that you got to enjoy the same moon “rise” in your spirits yesterday too. I hope people all over the world got an extra breath in when they saw it. :)

This one grabbed my attention too and makes me wonder what to think of the eyes. Very impressive.
And a bit scary.
