IMT: Shrink

This week’s Inspire Me Thursday prompt was ‘shrink’ which immediately made me think of Alice and here’s the result:

Sketchbook spread: Alice

I was in two minds as to whether to post this or not as I really dislike it. But since I made the decision to embark on this Creative Every Day journey I feel that I should post some of the failures too. My problem stems from the background. On Friday night I spend a couple of hours experimenting with doing some coloured backgrounds that I could use as jumping off points for new pages. The pages I used for this spread ended up with a very pink background and I really should have toned it down before I started on this spread as the whole thing ended up far too sickly pink for my liking.

Sketchbook spread - Alice

I like the little bottle - cause it’s red not pink ;-)

Detail from Alice spread

The quote, by the bye, ‘Recall Alice when she was just small’ is from Jefferson Airplane’s song ‘White Rabbit’.

I’ve been stopping by your blog for weeks now
(in a non stalker type way :)
I love your words, your art work.
And I’m always disappointed when you haven’t had
time to post. :(
I love this art of Alice.
It’s fabulous and you are really talented.
I’ll be back .....
:)

It’s perfect just the way it is. I have to introduce this art form to my grandkids, as I can see my GD doing just this. Awesome piece BF.
Delightful really. You capture Alice so well. I loved it at first glance.

Humm? Shrink. I probably would have put some one on a therapist’s couch. LOL

I like it just as it is too, pink and all.  Really charming.

Sorry to hear you have bad weather too - the eclipse was lost on us too!  Makes me half long to emigrate… Tuscany perhaps, or California....

Thanks to everyone for taking the time to comment.

Lotusflower - don’t be shy, feedback is welcome:)

Elizabeth - good to see you back in cyberspace. Tuscany sounds good to me! What can I say, I’m an old world girl;)

Lynn - I think your grandkids are very lucky to have you:)

And you should all visit Johanna’s blog for moody and dreamy art!

I thought of Alice first, too.  I can see where you might not like all the pinkness, I’m not a pink person either, but it still turned out great.

And I like the bottle best of all, too.

I think the pink’s just right for Alice! I think the whole page is lovely!
This is my first visit, I just fell in love with the photograph of the little fluffy white owl and the other wonderful birds you saw!
