Seven Random Facts
Because Andrea tagged me…
1) when I was seven I was attacked by an angry chicken. It was my own fault as I was trying to catch her chick.
2) I am the youngest of my family and share a birthday with my oldest brother. Coincidentally, my sister’s oldest son and youngest daughter also share a birthday.
3) When I was a child I had a pet Jackdaw called Joey.
4) I have nightmares I can never remember but I wake up terrified all the same.
5) I have a phobia of escalators. What’s worse is that it’s an inherited phobia. My mother was terrified of them too.
6) I have never learned to drive
7) I catalogued library books for a year. It was very dull work but it did mean a plentiful supply of books:)
Here are the rules if you would like to give it a go.
1. Link to your tagger and post these rules.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself: some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post and list their names (linking to them).
4. Let them know they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment at their blogs.
I am a shy retiring faery who does not know seven mortals to tag...but I welcome those who tag themselves;)
Update: the Three Ginger Cats are joining in!

We are happy to be tagged and will be thinking, but soon we will be getting back to you too with a new one that we want to start.
We have been alone for a few days as She has been off visiting schools and children and selling books and doing things in the world away from here.
Back now and this morning She walked in the morning twilight and watched the stars melt into the daylight sky before heading off the work for a day in a teaching centre.
Tomorrow She will paint and while She does we will blog. Seven things. We are thinking.

I look forward to it! I have never had very many friends who were cats as I grew up in a household of dog lovers. I was never allowed to invite any of your kind to my home :(

Who needs Google when there is wikipedia! thank you!
I have been tagged too: still thinking…

P.S. The three ginger darlings honoured me with a visit, and a few cat paw prints in my comments box.
I like having feline vistors for a change! Also they gave me I a new name: “The Fishing Lady” I like it.

Hi thanks for playing, we learn so much here, :) I’m curious now: was the Jackdaw living in a cage? Did he like you? Did you like him (after the experience with the chicken!:)

“...living in a cage?”
Good grief, no! He wouldn’t have stood for that at all! He was a crow with a lot of personality! No, he had the free run of the place, lived in the garage, wandered in and out of the house as he pleased.
He was only a helpless little chick when my brother found him so he viewed us humans as his family. He was very playful and inquisitive, and would get quite petulant if we didn’t let him in the house.
He liked watching TV, especially football and it was very amusing to watch his little head bobbing about as he followed the ball around the screen. He would walk along on the ground beside me and all my friends thought I was very weird to have a crow for a pet. But I didn’t mind because I am quite weird anyway.
“Did he like you?”
Of course he liked me. I’m very loveable! If a little weird…
;-)

Well I was going to ask what A Jackdaw was but you answered that. Crows are a very socialable bird so I could see how he would want to be with you. This has been fun reading everyones 7 facts. ;)
Now I need to go see who the Three Ginger Cats are.....

Wow, you have many interesting weirednesses. Lucky you. And the Jackdaw was new to me. Looks a bit like our standard black crow. This was a pet?
Hummm? Did you keep it in a cage then?
It is interesting how phobias can run in families.

Hello, Lynn
See my post above re:cage issue :)

No 2 is a bit spooky!
No 7 sounds like the sort of thing I used to do for fun, when I had time on my hands… which IS weird. At least you got paid for it! ;-)
Re No 3 & pet Jackdaw. How cool was that! I’m jealous!

Hi Liz
One of my Big Draw drawings this week is of my CueCat scanner - the little doodah I use to scan my books into my Library Thing catalog.
Once a librarian, always a librarian!
And I’ll get around to scanning and posting this week’s drawings eventually. Promise!
As a follow up to the pen and ink drawing of my coal bucket I decided to do another pen and ink of its companion set (the tongs, poker, etc). It’s taking ages to draw! All that cross hatching! Not sure if it’s worth the effort but I’ve started so I’ll finish…
Posted by Bad Faery on 10/18 at 10:25 PM
oooo! That sounds interesting, the scanner thing… not heard of them!?
Me too with the drawings… I WILL scan and publish soon, honest!!! I did some cross-hatching too today, first time in AGES. It was fun, but I did small areas, so maybe that’s cheating a little ;-)
Look forward to seeing yours… E
