Summer’s last breath
Autumn is fast approaching - walking to work yesterday I even saw some fallen leaves. Ordinarily I look forward to autumn but thanks to the utterly appalling summer we’ve just experienced I am feeling a little resentful. I feel like I’ve been cheated out of the summer I should have had as aside from the brief sunny glory that was May, our June, July and August have proven to be some of the wettest on record.
Today I took some photos of some lovely white flowers while on a visit to a local national park. I love white flowers. Some day I would love to have a garden full of only white flowers growing in a sea of verdant green with here and there some delicate hints of colour like the pink flowers below.
The woodwork on this little gazebo reminded me of Rivendell from the Lord of the Rings movies. Not quite so grand though - a more rustic (a hobbit’s?) interpretation of elven woodwork!

Love those Iceland poppies...and that “window\” in the bottom photo. I’ll send you our summer, way too hot for me. I welcome fall.
