The Big Draw - Day 30

I did not draw, instead I carved a pumpkin:)

Sukipoet mentioned in a comment that I live in a gorgeous place. Which is true. I do love it and even when I’ve lived in other places, my heart has always been here. But there are times, like now, when the clocks have just gone back and it’s nearly dark by 5pm and the rain is relentless, when it can all get a little bit much to bear. But mostly I love it. When I was a kid I would holiday in Gweedore with my cousins and we would go for walks to Bloody Foreland under a full moon, with the wind howling in from the Atlantic, and the waves battering the shore, and we’d be howling like banshees ourselves just to make ourselves heard. Nights like that you didn’t mind a bit of rain:)

I love where I live but I don’t always appreciate it.

I know what you mean about rain… it can make you forget about the beauty that we find easier to appreciate when it is sunny.  At least rain makes for lots of greenery!

Wow, I kept saying WOW while looking at your photos of your “georgous place”. It made me wonder if I could machine stitch some/any of them…
this blogging sure has added a new dimension to my thinking, my creative juices...WOW!
The sun shining through, the colors of red and the water, the pinks/oranges in the sky between our two countries, the boats...each piece waiting to be stitched. Could I? May I?

Love that the word I have to type in to post this is “perhaps91”...;-)

They’re not my photos, as it happens. The link takes you to a Flickr pool of photos submitted by lots of different users, none of them me:)

I nearly did a degree in embroidery and I was very into machine stitching. Are you familiar with Alice Kettle at all? She was a major source of inspiration at the time but life led me elsewhere instead. Life has a habit of doing that.

And I love that my word is “instead27”!
