The end of a creative week
I’m quite pleased with how my daily creativity challenge is going. I have managed to do something every day and have enjoyed the experience.
Above: detail from journal page
I’ve carried on doodling the wolves. I’m not sure where I’m going with them yet but they have certainly seized hold of my imagination. They may return to menace you yet!
Friday I took the time to make what turned out to be both a hearty and delicious vegetable soup. Saturday I was hit with one of my debilitating headaches so the day was very nearly a washout but by nighttime I was feeling more myself and spent time writing in my journal and brainstorming ideas for some illustrations I’d like to do.
Today I spent some time in the studio developing some of those ideas and then I decided to do a completely unrelated journal page:
I have to admit to not quite having the hang of art journaling yet as every time I start a page it ends up turning out completely different from what I intended.

The Unread Book challenge:
To my shame I have yet to start into any of my unread books but I hope to remedy that tomorrow. The only problem now is to try and decide where to start!

As I said I spent much of the day in my studio where as well as drawing I have been listening to the extended version of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King soundtrack. It was my birthday treat to myself this year:)
You know it’s four years since I first saw that movie but even now, listening to some of the closing music, it still makes me a little melancholic - but in a good way:)
Music: ‘The Journey to the Grey Havens’, Howard Shore, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King Complete Recordings

Comments:
We just finished our own marathon of watching the extended movies of Lord of the Rings (all of them!) Part of the joy of the movies is most certainly the great music! It has the ability to transport you to places not yet dreamed of. And I think it is a GREAT way to be inspired while working on your art!
Keep up the good works...maybe you’ll even inspire me to pick up a pencil and do more than write a grocery list! ;)

The first movie was released on my birthday (19th Dec) so I now reserve the right to watch the extended trilogy around my birthday every year! I don’t think I’ll ever tire of it.
And pick up that pencil! You might surprise yourself.

I have no idea what you were “planning to do” with your journal page, but what transpired is beautiful. I am extremely impressed with your art creations!
The wolves still scare me but that’s okay!
I am hiding here in my safe home.
They can’t get me here.
More journal pages please!

Thanks Lynn
I was supposed to be trying to do something for the dBlogola journal prompt, Wishes and Dreams for the New Year, which I was fully intending to be colourful and have words and resolutions, etc, but once I started pasting the paper it sort of took off in its own direction! I’ll try and have a second run at it tomorrow - who knows what I’ll end up with!

The wolves are scary indeed. Very hungry looking.
You did a good job there. ;)
I havent done much creating or so I thought since I have been nursing a bad back, but you mentioned cooking which I’ve done & is creative & I’ve spent time with my journal writing down ideas and reading. Which is giving me more ideas. Your post was very inspiring. ;)
